The British Standards first aid kit was introduced, to provide a more comprehensive first aid kit, than the standard HSE (Health Safety Executive) first aid kits.

 Although the HSE first aid is the minimum legal workplace standard, required to comply with health and safety regulation, the British Standard first aid kit, is an all round better first aid kit

 Advantages of the BSI first aid kit

•  More Plasters – Plasters are no question the most regularly used item in a first aid kit.
• Better quality gloves – British Standard kits contain strong hospital quality nitrile gloves, more HSE kits contain only Vinyl.
• Finger Dressings – Finger injuries are one of the most common types of workplace injury
• Foil Blankets – useful in the case of emergency evacuation
• Contains Microporous Tape and Scissors and Conforming bandages not included in HSE kits
